BRID AWARDED A MATCHING GRANT
BRID has recently applied for and received a matching grant from the Bureau of Reclamation for a lining project that will save 530 acre-feet of water in an irrigation season.
BRID is committed to improving its canal system through targeted lining projects, BRID proposes to line approximately 1,000 feet of the main canal near Coyote Siphon with a geo membrane liner to reduce water leakage and seepage, prevent erosion and conserve approximately 530.21 acre feet of water per year The lining project should be completed in time for the upcoming 2008 irrigation season

BRID AWARDED A NON-MATCHING GRANT
BRID has been awarded a Non-Matching Planning Grant from Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation for a Replacement study on Siphon 1.
The project entails a planning study with a report to determine the best course of action with regards to the replacement of the main canal siphon crossing the Bitterroot River.
The study will provide the following information: 1) an estimate of the remaining life of the existing Siphon 1. 2) New siphon replacement alternatives with environmental consequences. 3) A preliminary cost for the siphon replacement. 4) An estimated construction time required for the replacement.
